New Delhi: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has introduced the PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme 2.0 in an effort to mentor young and aspiring authors under the age of 30. Democracy is the focus of the PM-YUVA 2.0 mentoring programme.

Last date to participate is November 30
In order to choose the authors for the programme, an online national competition will be held from October 2 to November 30, 2022. Each of the 75 authors that will be chosen is eligible to receive a scholarship worth INR 50,000 per month for six months. As part of the Mentorship Scheme, the National Book Trust of India will publish the books written by young authors.
From December 1, 2022, until January 31, 2023, the author's submitted proposals would be examined; the winners would then be notified on February 28, 2023. From March 1 through August 31, 2023, renowned authors will train the young writers. On October 2, 2023, the first batch of books will be released.
Aim of the Programme
The programme will aid in the growth of a pool of authors capable of exploring the many dimensions of Indian democracy. The programme would also give young people who want to be leaders a chance to express themselves and offer a thorough understanding of democratic values in India on both domestic and international stages.
The inauguration of YUVA 2.0 (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) is in line with the Prime Minister's objective to inspire young people to understand and value India's democracy, mentioned the Ministry of Education's official statement. As a part of the India @75 Project (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), YUVA 2.0 seeks to creatively and innovatively highlight the perspectives of the younger generation of writers on the THEME: "Democracy (institutions, events, people, constitutional principles - past, present, future)". Thus, this programme will aid in creating a pool of authors who are capable of writing on a variety of topics to further Indian heritage, culture, and the body of knowledge.
