New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the students at the Grand Finale of “Smart India Hackathon 2022” which will be held on August 25, 2022. As per the reports, he will join the grand event in virtual mode through a video conference at 8 pm.

At a news conference, Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar said that from the start of the Smart India Hackathon, the Prime Minister has interacted with the participating students and that he is anticipated to do so again this year.
He further informed that at the Grand Finale of “Smart India Hackathon 2022”, which is scheduled to be held on August 25, 2022, the Prime Minister of India will address the participants and guests through a virtual conference at 8 pm.
The Smart India Hackathon was launched in 2017 as a national project which offers students a forum to address urgent issues faced by society. The event aims to introduce students to a culture of product creation, problem-solving, and unconventional thinking.
Smart India Hackathon 2022: Specifications
Approximately 15000 students and mentors will travel to 75 nodal centres to compete in the Smart India Hackathon 2022 Grand Finale, according to statistics. A total of 53 governmental entities submitted a total of 476 issue statements for the hackathon this year.
During the finals, the competing teams will travel to the designated nodal centre and work on the issue statements. About 75 higher education institutions and incubators have been chosen to host participants and provide a setting for the event's well-established framework.
Each year, SIH is held at different nodal centres, when chosen student teams, business representatives, design mentors, and judges go to the designated physical locations. Each issue's Smart India Hackathon winner will receive a prize worth Rs 1 lakh.
SIH offers both a hardware and a software edition: the Software grand finale will take place from August 25 to 26, 2022, and Hardware will run from August 25 to 29, 2022. Three awards totaling Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000, and Rs 50,000 will be given to the winning teams.
Junior Smart India Hackathon 2022
To foster an innovative and problem-solving mindset among school pupils this year, the organisers also held the Smart India Hackathon Junior. The event will be held to provide students with a platform where they can grow their skills.
When discussing the hackathon's impact, Sarkar stated that since it began in 2017, the hackathon's scope has expanded, student engagement has grown more enthusiastic, and problem-statement supplying firms have also participated more frequently.
SIH is influencing thousands of students while also giving them a platform to put their academic knowledge to the test by tackling real-world problems. He continued by saying that the hackathon is also in line with his interest in entrepreneurship and innovation.
