PM Modi Addresses Union Education Budget 2022 Webinar on Feb 21 to Discuss Implementation; Read Live Updates


New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has organised a Union Education Budget 2022 webinar on February 21, 2022, from 11 AM. The webinar is conducted for the purpose of facilitating speedy and effective implementation of Budget announcements in the education and skill sector. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the Plenary Session today. 

The webinar on Union Budget 2022 is to include sessions on multiple themes of relevance and Government officials of several ministries and state Governments participated in it. Along with them, many educationists, students, skill development organisations and other relevant people also will take part in this important event.

The primary objective of this webinar is to brainstorm with the experts from multiple private and public sectors, academia and professional industry, seeking their feedback and advice on strategies of moving forward towards the successful implementation of several issues under various sectors. 

The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the India Budget 2022 in Parliament. From the expansion of PM e-Vidya to the establishment of Digital University, Sitharaman announced several initiatives to improve the digital education situation in India. 

In a first, the budget allocation for education has crossed Rs. 1 lakh crore”, as stated by Subhas Sarkar, the minister of State for Education. 

Therefore, the Ministry has arranged the webinar to discuss the possibilities required for all the success.

  • Feb 21, 2022: 11:15 AM: Digital University can solve the issue of limited seats. "Digital University is one of its kind. Our focus is on digital integration. It can solve the issue of limited seats in academic programmes. With Digital University, there will be a seat for every student”, PM Modi stated. Earlier, during the declaration of Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the establishment of Digital University. The university will offer programmes in regional languages.

This webinar is to include a handful of themes and those are:

  1. Digital University- Making World-Class higher education accessible for all
  2. Creating quality e-content, digital material and virtual labs for inclusively, better learning outcomes and skill development
  3. Widening the reach of ‘One Class One Channel’ to spread digital education all over the country
  4. India specific knowledge in the sector of Urban Planning and Design
  5. Fostering and strengthening the better industry-skill connection
  6. Developing educational institutions in GIFT city 
  7. Strengthening industry-skill connection in AVGC

National Tele-Mental Health Program to be Launched as per Union Budget 2022

The Ministry further has notified that seven parallel breakout sessions are to be organised under the above-mentioned themes. Key action points, main strategies along timelines for the fruitful implementation are to be identified and discussed by the participants. This is to enhance the employment opportunities of the young people of the country.
