OP Jindal University Signs MoU with University of Virginia to Promote Student Exchange Program

New Delhi: Jindal Global University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Virginia for student exchange programs and joint research initiatives. This collaboration will aim to conduct research on democracy and environmental sustainability. 

Talking about this initiative, the Founding Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal Global University, C Raj Kumar said, "the partnership will allow the students to develop a holistic understanding of the globalised world with cooperation in exchanging knowledge, perspectives, and cultural experiences".

“The partnership will provide transformative prospects of higher education and learning to students in both the universities and enable our faculty members to pursue joint teaching and collaborative research with a view to advancing the cause of international education and institution building”, he added. 

Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), both universities will aim to offer students an opportunity to apply for joint exchange programs, where they can study dual degree programs from both institutes. Students of both institutes will pursue degrees in each other's universities. 

Speaking on this occasion, C Raj Kumar shared, "This I believe is a very important facet of the national education policy, and also the current thinking within the government when it comes to public policy in relation to higher education and internationalization".

In other initiatives, the university has established Jindal Global Centre on G20 Studies with the aim to focus on research, thought leadership, and capacity-building initiatives of G20. The centre was established on the occasion of India inheriting the G20 Presidency on December 1, 2022.

The university officials shared that the centre is established with the goal of addressing problems related to the world economy. It will mainly focus on issues involving international financial stability, reducing global warming, and sustainable development.
