New Delhi: As per National Medical Commission (NMC), All medical institutions must register with and submit their 10-year academic certificate data via Digi-locker NAD (National Academic Depository). At nad.digilocker.gov.in, medical institutions and universities may register.

In a formal announcement, Sandhya Bhullar, Secretary, NMC, requested that all medical institutions abide by the directives in the letter mentioned above and register with Digilocker-NAD, and upload their 10 years' worth of academic certificate data as soon as possible.
The NAD implementation via Digilocker has been given to the Ministry of Education to enable students to get genuine educational papers or certificates in digital format straight from their original issuers. The physical document and the digital copy stored in the Digilocker will be considered equally under information technology regulations.
"Digilocker is one of the major components of the India stack, which also includes Aadhaar, UPI, Digilocker, and the eConsent Framework. Digilocker offers consent-based third-party verification in addition to serving as a vault for public data that anybody may access.
Digilocker now contains around 560 billion documents from 2205 government and commercial organizations, and more than 12.6 billion people have already joined.
In a letter to the secretary general of the NMC, the National e-Governance Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology stated that the e-Sanad project of the Ministry of External Affairs had been integrated with Digilocker-NAD and helped in the verification process of the student traveling abroad.
According to the letter, Digilocker has more than 1650 academic institutions in the education sector, including universities, institutes of national importance (INIs), CBSE, state boards, the NEET, and CUET among others, as well as more than 60 crore records of academic certificates.
"Institutions are encouraged to actively participate in the timely roll-out of Digilocker-NAD services, which will shorten the turnaround time in the admissions as well as the hiring process," it continued.
