New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a list of countries in which Indian medical students from Ukraine can study as part of the "Academic Mobility Programme".

Lately, the Commission let Indian medical students who had been in war-torn Ukraine finish their studies at academic institutions in other countries.
According to an official notice from NMC, students can study at medical schools or colleges in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Slovakia, Spain, Uzbekistan, US, Italy, Belgium, Egypt, Belarus, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Romania, Sweden, Israel, Iran, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Germany, Turkey, Croatia, and Hungary.
Medical students are urged to adopt the mobility programme in accordance with the NMC notification, which stated that the "said "Academic Mobility Program" is applicable exclusively to the medical colleges/institutes located in the above-mentioned countries.
The academic mobility programme is a temporary relocation to other universities throughout the world, according to the NMC's earlier public notice, which stated that the Commission had taken into consideration the mobility programme given by Ukraine after consulting with the Ministry of External Affairs.
However, according to the official NMC announcement, the degree will be granted by the parent Ukrainian university.
According to the public notice, "The Commission hereby transmits its no-objection for academic mobility programme in respect of Indian medical students studying in Ukraine provided that other parameters of Screening Test Regulations 2002 are fulfilled."
NMC agreed to recognise the academic mobility scheme provided by Ukraine in light of the unique circumstances, allowing such students to finish their education since the degree would only be granted by the parent Ukrainian institution.
