New Delhi: National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to extend the application deadline for Undergraduate (UG) MBBS courses for session 2023-24. Medical colleges can now submit their applications for the registration process nmc.org.in till August 31, 2022, by 6 pm.

As per NMC, the council will also increase the capacity of medical seats, add new medical colleges and start the renewal of academic courses for the upcoming academic year of 2023-24. This step has been taken to increase the intake of medical students in colleges.
Informing about the initiatives, the official NMC notification mentioned "after due consideration, the medical assessment and rating board of National Medical Commission hereby extends the date and time for receipt of the applications up to August 31 (6 PM)".
The council has requested the MBBS colleges and educational institutes to submit their registrations along with essentiality certificate, consent of affiliation (CoA), and details of the hospital along with the application on the official website of the commission at nmc.org.in.
Earlier, the last date to submit applications was August 10, 2022, which has now been extended to August 31, 2022. Medical colleges are directed to follow the current undergraduate regulations gazette and submit their application before the mentioned date.
In addition to this, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has also requested all medical colleges in India to ensure the well-being of students and take care of their mental health by offering a conducive working environment, weekly offs, and sanctioned leaves.
It has further directed colleges to submit their action taken reports on how they are ensuring the mental health of students and how the colleges are following cases of suicide, gender bias, and incidences of dishonor to a woman's decency.
