NLU Tripura Cancels Domicile Quota Admission 2022 for LLB And LLM Program: Check Details Here

New Delhi: National Law University Tripura has rejected the NLU admission 2022 due to the state domicile quota, with only a few weeks remaining before the start of the next academic year. The first academic session of Tripura's first national law institution was slated to begin on January 4, 2023.

The most recent announcement from the NLU Tripura states, "The procedure launched for the Academic session 2022-23 is thus annulled on the basis of state domicile quota and the entrance/ admission fees, if any, taken or submitted be reimbursed to all the selected students straightaway."

In accordance with an earlier plan, the academic term for first-year law students was scheduled to begin on January 4. Based on the results of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2022), entry to the five-year integrated BA LLB(Hons) and one-year Master of Laws (LLM) programmes commenced.

Lately, NLU Tripura announced a third waiting list for enrollment, and the shortlisted candidates were given until December 7, 2022, to pay their fees.

The NLU admissions process for the year 2022 to fill 60 seats on the Tripura campus was completed in two months. Nonetheless, the abrupt postponement of the entire admissions process has disappointed pupils.

Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, officially opened Tripura's first national law university in October 2022, and classes were scheduled to start in January 2023.

In response to the admission's cancellation, a student posted the following message: "NLU TRIPURA cancels the candidature of 60 students for its inaugural session slated for January 2023, alleging unclear and improper reasons. Students are heartbroken over the same. Government raises hand in liability."

"NLU Tripura halted all admissions for the 2022 batch; they made the announcement on the website. Once the admissions procedure was complete, our batch was cancelled, wasting the entire year. We are currently quite frustrated and depressed,” a student tweeted.

Students who chose to enrol in NLU Tripura's 5-year integrated LLB programme or 1-year LLM programme are not eligible to apply for admission to another college for this academic year, which is 2022–2023.

They will have to wait until other NLUs begin their admissions cycle for the 2023–24 academic year. They will squander a year of their academic career as a result. Aside from that, the government has given up and said it won't interfere with NLU Tripura Admission 2022.

The first national law university, located in Tripura, was opened by Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, where the start of the academic year was scheduled for January 2023. The CLAT Consortium will now determine if this judgement can be reversed and whether or not all of the cancelled admissions will receive a resolution.
