New Delhi: NLU Delhi in collaboration with SOAS University of London is jointly offering a fee of cost summer school programme on Climate Law & Climate Justice from June 27 to July 8, 2022.

According to the official announcement by NLU Delhi, the two-week online certificate course titled 'Climate Justice and Climate Law: South-North Perspectives' will focus on the intersection of climate justice and climate change law and policy, framed around understanding justice linked to equity within and among countries.

The course of NLU Delhi will emphasise the global South-global North components of the international climate change regime, with India serving as a key model for understanding climate justice at the country level. It has an intake of 30 students. 5 seats each shall be reserved for students from SOAS and NLU Delhi.

NLU Delhi Summer School Programme on Climate Law & Climate Justice: Eligibility Criteria

As a course that demands extensive interactions, the enrolment will be limited and highly selective. The institute welcomes applications from students and graduates across the world interested in Environmental Law and policy or, more specifically, climate change law and policy: 

  • Candidates with an undergraduate degree in any field from a recognised university with a 55% are eligible (in the UK, a 2:1 or equivalent elsewhere). 
  • Students enrolled for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in any field. 
  • Working professionals 
  • No restrictions regarding age, nationality, and gender.

NLU Delhi Summer School Programme on Climate Law & Climate Justice: Selection Process

  • The selection committee shall consider the resume, motivation letter, and academic and professional background in shortlisting the candidates. 
  • The committee shall also consider the diversity of experiences during the selection process. 
  • The shortlisted candidates will be contacted by May 31, 2022.

  • Candidates interested in applying for this certificate course should apply through the official portal of NLU Delhi, nludelhi.ac.in. 
  • Candidates need to fill in the application form with the required information.
  • The application should contain a detailed resume, and a motivation letter (max 800 words) indicating why you are applying and how this course would be helpful in the future.
  •  Preference will be given to those with a demonstrated interest in the subject matter.
