NIT Hamirpur Convocation: Education Minister Urges Students for More Research and Innovation, Read More


The Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank urged students to take up research and innovation at the virtual convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur on January 18, 2021.

Mr Pokhriyal stated that India has become a top nation in various fields of development and the Union Government has provided bigger thrust for the research and innovation in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. 

At the 11th convocation of NIT Hamirpur which was held virtually, the union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank participated and delivered his address virtually. 

After so many discussions and talks, the NEP was prepared so that there would be no need for such policy in the upcoming 50 years. The situation is favourable to youths and they should come forward to work in order to make our country a supreme power in all respects, Pokhriyal said.

“There is no need for candidates to go abroad to get higher education because 1,000 foreign students have visited India to get higher education last year and more than 50,000 students have enrolled for various types of courses,” said Edu Minister.

Even after the restrictions imposed due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the online education system is becoming successful and the Indian scientist and researchers should be given complete credit for this because they make the tiny tots work on computers and mobiles. 

Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs was also present in the convocation ceremony held at NIT Hamirpur. 

In his address, Thakur stated that NIT Hamirpur has done a lot for the betterment of the society and the students of the Institute have brought name and fame to the Institute at National and International levels. 

The students of NIT Hamirpur and their parents attended the convocation ceremony virtually and 1,026 students have received degree certificates on the occasion.
