New Delhi: As per a report, several medical aspirants and their parents are opposing to the e central Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) decision to hold a special stray vacancy round to fill 323 vacant MBBS seats in the all-India quota, without giving them a chance to upgrade.

Students and Parents have said that these seats are vacant in sought-after government medical colleges and may now be opened to students with lower merit ranks.
It will be unfair to a section of these students, as getting a seat in a government college is highly competitive. Of the 323 vacant seats in the all-India quota, 38 are vacant in Maharashtra, in colleges like JJ, Sion, Nair, BJ.
Further, those students who have not secured seats in any college, are only eligible for the special round. Students are expected to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 50,000.
