Maharashtra CET Cell to Investigate Exam Timer Glitch in MBA/MMS CET 2023

News Title: As per the latest updates, Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has set up a committee to look into the complaints filed by candidates regarding the exam timer glitch in MAH MBA/MMS CET 2023 held on March 25, 2023 (Saturday).

Candidates complained that there was a glitch in their timers in the first slot of MAH MBA/MMS CET 2023 held on March 25, 2023, due to which they were given less time to complete the test. Students shared that the exam started on time but the server crashed in between.

While other students shared that their exams started late at MAH CET 2023 exam centers, even when the questions were available online. Candidates are now worried that these glitches will have an impact on the merit list, which will further affect their chances to get admission to top colleges.

One of the MBA aspirants shared, “The paper was supposed to be held for 150 minutes, but on some of the computer terminals, the timer was set for 180 minutes, giving those students 30 minutes extra. Thirty minutes in a competitive exam is very crucial,"

Nishant Chaudhari, who appeared for the G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur shared that this exam started 30-40 minutes late. The timer set in the same exam center had different times and many computer servers were down, which caused distress among students.

“In a few centres in the state, the exam, which was scheduled to start at 2 pm started as late as evening. By then the questions and the solution sets were already available online. These students also got an unfair advantage,” added another student.

Students have now requested the authority to look into this matter and conduct a re-exam for slots held on March 25, 2023. In response to this, the CET cell has constituted an inquiry committee to thoroughly look into the complaints filed by candidates.

Responding to the queries, an official release from the CET cell said, "If there have been any technical glitches, students would be permitted to take a re-test". Mahendra Warbhuvan, CET Cell Commissioner informed that further course of action will be taken to ensure that every student gets equal opportunity.
