JNU and TechGig sign MoU to facilitate online academic assessments

As per the recent reports of JNU(Jawaharlal Nehru University), it has joined hands with TechGig to facilitate academic assessments in online mode. To solidify this agreement JNU and TechGig have signed a mutual agreement in the form of an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding)

TechGig, being one of the largest technology communities in India has shown a preference towards making online education accessible to students in the current COVID-19 ridden scenario.

JNU had also recently organised a virtual workshop for its faculty to make an announcement regarding this proposal signed with the TechGig team and to discuss the plan of action. The workshop took place on August 10, 2020.

VC- JNU, Jagdish Kumar expressed optimistically in his statement regarding the online assessment platform which will contribute as a big boon for the students. Additionally , he was concerned about a bright and successful future of the students, especially the terminal students.

Furthermore, he stated that on the completion of the exams, all the terminal candidates can continue with their higher studies and advance their careers without letting the pandemic act as an obstacle in their professional development.

According to Sanjay Goyal, Business Head,TimesJobs and TechGig ,this online access platform has been designed and developed in more than 25 colleges, 35 schools and around 57000 universities or institutes in India.

One of the key reasons behind this move is to get rid of the struggle and headache of the Indian faculty and the candidates as well. The tools have been equipped with advanced plagiarism detectors, thereby ensuring a fair-assessment to the candidates.

The performance of each candidate is evaluated with the help of “Auto-evaluation review students’’ and allows teachers to save time on the evaluation. The teachers will be able to spend that time completing the syllabus and developing more effective methods of learning.

With the advent of this online digital platform, JNU has decided to train its faculty and the students to familiarize them with online tools for teaching, evaluation and assessment.
