Jharkhand Budget 2022: Released Rs 1.01 Lakh Cr Budget, New Education Loan Scheme Announced; Check Details Here

New Delhi: Government of Jharkhand has released the budget for the financial year 2022-23. With the goal of providing educational loans to students for higher education at a low-interest rate, the government proposed the Guruji Credit Card scheme.

The state government presented a budget of Rs 1.01 lakh crore, with high investment in areas such as health and infrastructure.

The Mukhyamantri Sarathi Scheme has also been proposed to assist all degree-holding students in their preparation for competitive exams. The Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Trans-national Scholarship scheme, which was included in the budget, will now be available to students from Schedule Caste, Backward, and Minority communities.

Principal Secretary, Finance department Ajoy Kumar Singh during a post-Budget briefing said, "For educational loan, banks ask for collateral security. But, poor students are generally not able to provide it. In such cases, they miss the opportunity of higher education. Under Guruji Credit Card, the state government will be the guarantor for such loan".

Recognizing that finances are insufficient for an entire family to live in modest dwellings built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Rural), Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said the state government plans to offer Rs 50,000 per house from the state budget for the building of an additional room.
