New Delhi: Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) 2023 application form is now available on the official website i.e.,jest.org.in. Interested candidates can apply till February 2, 2023.
JEST is a national-level entrance exam and it is considered a National Eligibility Test (NET). It offers admission to PhD and Integrated PhD programs in Physics or Neuroscience, Theoretical Computer Science, and Computational Biology.
The candidates can get admission to various institutions participating in this entrance exam. The various institutions participating in JEST are IISc, IIST, IISER, NISER etc.

JEST 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for JEST 2023 have been listed below for reference:
For PhD Program:
- Physics: MSc in Physics while some universities and colleges accept MSc/ ME/ BE/ B.Tech/ in applied Mathematics and Physics.
- Neuroscience at NBRC: Candidates should hold a M.Sc. (Physics/ Mathematics), BE/ B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science degree.
- Theoretical Computer Science at IMS: M.Sc./ ME/ M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering or any other related area.
- Computational Biology at IMSM: Candidates should hold a ME/ M.Tech/ MCA degree in any discipline.
Integrated Ph.D. Programme:
- IISER, Thiruvananthapuram: Candidates should hold a B.Sc. (Physics) or BE/ B.Tech degree in any discipline.
- Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc: MCA/BE in Computer Science or a related stream.
JEST 2023: How to Apply?
Below are the step wise procedure given for filling the JEST 2023 Application Form:
Step 1: Visit the official website of JEST 2023 i.e., jest.org.in and then register yourself before log in.
Step 2: To register, click on the “register to appear for the exam” link on the homepage.
Step 3: You will receive an email with the account information after registering with a valid email-id.
Step 4: Follow the instructions sent via mail for resetting the password and further login.
Step 5: Login to the JEST 2023 homepage with your username (your email-id) and password. Fill the application form and save it, or modify an already saved form.
Step 6: Press the “Submit Application Form” button only when you have inserted and checked all the mandatory entries.
Step 7: Upload jpg files of your passport size photograph and scanned signature.
Step 8: Proceed to pay the application fee online using SBI E-pay.
Step 9: Submit the application form and take a printout of the form for the future references.
