New Delhi: NTA released the Exam City Intimation Slip for JEE Main 2023 on January 17, 2023. The Exam City Intimation Slip informs the candidates about their respective exam centre location and the date and time of the exam.
Students who have registered themselves for JEE Main 2023 were eagerly waiting for the exam city intimation slip and the admit card, which will be released soon. As their wait has come to an end, the allocation of exam city has kept them baffled.
Most students have been allotted exam centres far away from their city of choice and are now worried about reaching the exam centre. They have started protesting against this exam city allocation over social media platforms like Twitter.
Some of the students who had chosen Ballia, Mau Ghazipur and Varanasi as their preferred exam centres are being allotted Dehradun, which is in Uttarakhand.
Here is a tweet by an aspiring JEE Main 2023 candidate whose exam centre is located almost 500 km away from his preferred location.
My exam centre is kanpur. It is 500km away from my city.

Another student wrote, “@jee_mains @DG_NTA Exam Centre in Dibrugarh? There is no centre in Dibrugarh. kindly fix this issue if its an error or give notification about this. There are four students that i know whose centre is in Dibrugarh,”.
- Another tweet mentioned; “JEE (Main) Application No. 230310772938. The centre allotted for #JEEMains exam is not even among the choices opted while filling out the form. The centres opted were Ballia, Mau Ghazipur and Varanasi. However the centre allotted is Dehradun which is city of another state. @DG_NTA.”

The cities given by NTA is not out of the choosen Cities by candidate and the date of exam is also not between 24 Jan to 31 Jan(Dates for exam given by NTA) for many students.
It is very hard for candidates to reach the centre located too far.
