New Delhi: All India Joint Entrance Examination Advanced Topper RK Shishir chose to get admission to IISC inplace of IIT Bombay. He is now a B.Tech in Computer Science student.

Before scoring the toppers seat in JEE Advanced, Shishir desired to pursue Computer Science Engineering at IIT-Bombay and had plans to set up a start-up. But, he changed his mind and decided to research in the Computer Science stream. So he joined IISC Bangalore.
Speaking about his decision, Shishir said, "Yes, I wanted to join IIT Bombay and pursue computer science. I realised later that computer science is more job-oriented. My interest is towards research, development, and entrepreneurship. So, I decided to join IISc."
But quitting a much coveted IIT Bombay Seat was not easy for him. "I researched a lot before quitting my IIT seat. I decided on IISc as the programme offered there has mathematics, which is my favourite," Shishir said.
“I selected Maths in computing in B-Tech. Maths is a very important subject in Computer Science. It is the new updated computer course. After completing my B-Tech degree, I plan to set up a start-up. In case it does not work out, I will try to get a postgraduate degree in foreign universities and pick research and development,” Shishir said.
Shishir also topped CET-2022 in Pharmacy and fourth in Engineering and. He stood second (AIR) in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru
