IIT Delhi, which is the organizing body of JEE Advanced 2020, has issued a clarification that there are no plans to change the syllabus of the entrance examination.
This is a response to media reports that the syllabus and examination pattern of JEE Advanced could be changed.
The eligibility criteria for admission to the IITs have been relaxed. Candidates who pass class 12 and qualify JEE Advanced 2020 will be eligible to apply to the IITs. Earlier, they would have to obtain 75% marks in class 12 to be eligible.
The clarification read, “In reference to a news report published in the media that JEE (Advanced) 2020 could see some changes in the examination pattern, IIT Delhi, the organizing institute, would like to clarify that there are no plans to change the syllabus of the entrance examination. There is also no plan to discuss the matter in the next JAB meeting.
“As of now, JEE (Advanced) 2020 is scheduled to be held on September 27, 2020.”
The JEE Advanced is an entrance examination given for admission to the undergraduate courses of the 23 IITs. The examination is taken in CBT mode. It consists of compulsory papers comprising questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The first 250,000 qualifications of JEE Main are eligible to take JEE Advanced.
