New Delhi: The Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali, seeks applications from qualified applicants for admission to its Ph. D. Program in a variety of disciplines of nanoscience and nanotechnology, which will commence in August 2022. The last date to apply for the program is March 31, 2022.

Selected students will get fellowships in accordance with INST and Government of India guidelines. Students possessing an independent source of fellowship, such as CSIR/UGC-JRF, are also invited to apply.

Selected candidates will be enrolled in the Ph. D. programme at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, and the Ph. D. degree will be given by the IISER, Mohali.

Candidates can check the below steps to know the application process to get admission at INST Mohali to pursue a PhD programme-

• Candidates must apply in the specified format, described at https://inst.ac.in/careers/42.
• Candidates must also submit an online synopsis
• A hard copy of the application should be sent to "The Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Knowledge City, Sector 81, Mohali140306" along with a recent passport size photograph and a self-attested copy of certificates proving age, educational qualifications, experience (if any), and reservation category (Punjab). 
• The application form should be superscribed "Application for the Ph. D. Program – August 2022" on the envelope holding it.
• Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for interviews, and the date and location of the interviews will be sent to the candidate's email address.
• The list of candidates who have been shortlisted will also be released on the INST website.
• Ph. D. interviews will be held online, and a link will be given prior to the interview. If the interviews are held in person, the candidates will be reimbursed for sleeper class rail travel or non-AC bus cost from their place of residence to INST and return upon proof of a ticket. 
• Following the interview, the list of applicants chosen for the Ph. D. programme will be posted on the INST website, and the candidates will be notified through email. 
• Students will be chosen in accordance with the terms of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006.

INST Mohali PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

The following is detailed information on the eligibility requirements for admission in the PhD programme at INST Mohali:

• Candidates who have completed M. Sc., M. Pharm., or M. Tech. in Basic or Applied Sciences, Engineering, or a Related Field. 
• Students who have taken final year/semester exams are also eligible, as long as the degree will be awarded by the time they join.
• GATE, CSIR/UGC-NET, JEST, JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS), ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, or GPAT qualification is required.
• Age limit: As per CSIR-UGC and DST standards.

Duly completed applications, along with supporting documentation, should be sent to INST through Registered/Speed Post/ Courier/By Hand. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered in any way.
