IIT Tanzania to Become a Hub for Technology Education in Africa; Check Details Here


New  The offshore IIT campus in Tanzania, according to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, could serve as a hub for technology education in Africa.

"India is pleased to support Tanzania's IIT project. Dharmendra Pradhan stated that Tanzania's IIT might serve as a centre for technology education across the continent. "I proposed the support necessary for the project's realisation and also highlighted India's desire to open a centre for 21st-century skills in Zanzibar," the author said.

He also mentioned that India will offer the support needed for the project's implementation during his discussion with his Tanzanian counterpart, and he also expressed India's willingness to open a centre for 21st-century skills in Zanzibar. He also extended an invitation to African students to study in India.

The Indian minister met with his counterparts from Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Mauritius today in addition to the Tanzanian minister. The UNESCO India Africa Hackathon is the reason these ministers are in India.

He spoke with Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, vice prime minister and minister of tertiary education, science, and technology for Mauritius, Lela Muhamed Mussa, minister of education and vocational training for Tanzania in Zanzibar, Raymore Machingura, deputy minister of education for Zimbabwe, and John Ntim Fordjour, deputy minister of education for Ghana.

At their meeting, he gave the Mauritius minister his word that India would continue to support Mauritius in its efforts to enhance its educational and skill-building infrastructure. He also suggested making Mauritius a knowledge and skill centre for South-east Asia and Africa.

In his discussion with Zimbabwe's Raymore Machingura, the Indian minister proposed creating a joint working group between India and Zimbabwe on education, skill development, and capacity building. In a tweet, he proposed the formation of a collaborative working group between India and Zimbabwe to address capacity building, skill development, and education.

With the Ghana minister, Pradhan suggested creating institutional frameworks and collaborative working groups between Ghana and India from early childhood to research. Pradhan tweeted, "I suggested setting up institutional frameworks and joint working groups between Ghana and India from pre-school to research for accomplishing mutual priorities. "HE John voiced his support for the proposal and agreed to cooperate to increase academic engagements."
