New Delhi: IIT Roorkee has announced to offer fellowships to its M.Tech students in collaboration with a leading software company, Ansys Inc. The institute made the announcement on the occasion of National Science Day.
IIT Roorkee has officially stated that it will provide fellowships to M.Tech students from diverse backgrounds, preferably female students. The official statement on its Twitter handle reads as follows:

With this collaboration, the institute aims to improve the employability of its students and work to develop technological solutions for the greater good of society.
At present, IIT Roorkee M.Tech is offered in around 40 specialisations. Candidates need a valid GATE score to apply. Regular B.Tech students belonging to IITs who do not have GATE scores must have at least an 8.0 CGPA.
This year, GATE 2022 was concluded on February 13 for both sessions. Provisional answer keys of the exam were released on February 21, 2022. GATE 2022 results will be announced by March 17, 2022.

Meanwhile, during the occasion of National Science Day on February 28, IIT Roorkee Director Ajit K Chaturvedi asserted, “The fellowship will motivate our students, in particular our female students, to work for technology-based solutions for society. The mindset of the institute and the facilities available on the campus will provide them with a smooth ride from ideation to creation."
IIT Roorkee held a talk-cum-interaction session on ‘DNA for Startups’, with Rafiq Somani, Area Vice President - India and South Asia Pacific, Ansys. Inc. The session highlighted emerging technologies used by growing startups to provide services or products to their customers.
At the session, speakers also discussed new-age technology-based startups and the growing numbers. These startups provide passionate entrepreneurs, thereby boosting the economy and also generating employment opportunities.
Additionally, Prof T Pradeep, Institute Chair Professor of IIT Madras, was the chief guest on the occasion. He virtually addressed the event speaking on Science, Technology and Innovation for sustainable clean water.
