IIT Madras PhD Admission 2023 Open; Last Date to Apply is October 31

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has begun the application process for the PhD programme for the academic session of January 2023. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @https://research.iitm.ac.in/, by October 31, 2022. 

IIT Madras has invited applications for January 2023 for the eligible candidates for admission to the PhD and MS Research programmes under regular/part-time/external schemes of the Institute. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till October 31, 2022. 

Admission to the research-based doctoral PhD program will be based on marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the IIT Madras itself.

IIT Madras offers a Ph.D. under various departments including Engineering, Science, Humanities & Social Studies, and Management. 

IIT Madras PhD Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to PhD programmes will have to fulfill the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must hold a Master or a dual degree in the relevant disciplines with a CGPA of 6.5 or above.
• Candidates with B.E/B.Tech degree can apply to pursue Ph.D. (M.S+Ph.D.) in Engineering or Sciences after their Bachelor’s degree. 
• Meritorious M.S scholars with CGPA>8.0 are eligible to upgrade to the Ph.D. program in the same department and will receive a dual degree i.e. (M.S+Ph.D.) on completion of the program.

IIT Madras PhD Admission 2023: Selection Process

• Candidate's selection to the Ph.D. programs will be based on a valid Score in UGC NET, CSIR NET, or JRF is required while for MS (By Research) program a good score in GATE is mandatory.
• Research courses in the field of Management, the candidates must have an MBA degree with a valid JRF or NET score.

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of IIT Madras @https://research.iitm.ac.in/

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
