IIT Madras Digital Skills Academy Launches Banking and Financial Services Upskilling Course; Check Details Here


New Delhi: IIT Madras has joined hands with InFact Pro, a Chennai-based premier finance sector certified trainer, to launch an upskilling programme called ‘Premier Banker’. 

The digital skills academy of IIT Madras will be launching the upskilling programme through the IITM Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) with an aim to train the students in banking and finance, digital banking, mutual funds, analysis and forecast of financial health.

The upskilling course will be conducted for a duration of four to six months with 240 hours of training. The course module includes questions and assignments to help students succeed in a career in banking and financial services.

According to the IITM statement, all the participants will receive a certificate from the Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Madras, upon successful completion of the Premier Banker course.

IIT Madras Premier Banker Course: Eligibility Criteria 

In order to enrol for admissions into the upskilling programme, Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria, 

  • Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any specializations or should be in the second or third year of any undergraduate programme 
  • Candidates must have a passion to excel in the BFSI domain.
  • Candidates having prior work experience in the banking or financial services sector is preferred but not mandatory.

Speaking about the launch of the course, K Mangala Sunder, Head of Digital Skills Academy, CCE, IIT Madras, said that it's important to offer courses in skilling and upskilling in a timely manner and also aim at the current markets and their requirements. 

With India moving rapidly towards a 5 trillion dollar economy, it's crucial to offer such programs with the assistance of premier faculty in finance and banking sector training companies like the digital skills academy has proposed, Sunder said. 

Since its establishment in 2018, the Digital skills academy has been offering online training programs with more than 25 courses under the guidance of NASSCOM IT-ITeS Sector Skills Council. 

The academy is chaired by Shri. Lakshmi Narayanan, the founder and CEO of Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Prof. M. S. Ananth, the former Director of IIT Madras and the founder of digital online learning in India through the NPTE.

Recently, the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, and the institute jointly conducted the OCEANS 2022 Conference and Exposition from February 21 to 24, 2022. It is a bi-annual event for global marine researchers, technologists, engineers, students and policymakers.
