New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has teamed with Sutherland's Corporate Citizens programme to fund the education of 10,000 students from financially deprived households.

Professor Andrew Thangaraj, NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras, stated, "Thanks to Sutherland's tremendous sponsorship, these individuals, many of whom come from families of first-generation learners, can now acquire NPTEL certification."
The scheme offers qualified students scholarships that decrease the cost of certification by fifty percent. This sponsorship grant allowed students to gain certification in NPTEL's online courses for the January 2022 semester. The money supported 10,000 recipients from 160 universities in 18 states nationwide.
“Our dedication to producing talent that allows the digitalization of enterprises is reflected in our investment in the education of these new leaders. And all of us profit when the talent of tomorrow is more ready to flourish in our digital age,” according to Sutherland's senior vice president of global people operations, Anil Joseph.
One of the recipients from Madhya Pradesh, Kartavya Singh Jadoun, stated, "My father passed away two years ago, and my mother is a housewife. Therefore, I must combine my studies with part-time work in order to manage our household's finances. This award would assist me in registering for my next NPTEL exams."
Another recipient from Maharashtra, Divya C. Samse, stated, "My parents are farmers. Unfortunately, they cannot monetarily fund my schooling due to weather-related financial difficulties. I appreciate Sutherland's scholarship programme.”
Anubattula Sai Prakash from Telangana, who was also a recipient, stated, "My parents are construction workers. For a low-income student like myself, the fee discount provided by the scholarship is a tremendous boon. It assisted me in enrolling in more courses. Thank you incredibly."
