IIT Kanpur Revised UG Curriculum 2021-22 Released; Honors, Inter-Departmental Degree Programs Launched: Read Full Report Here


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT),IIT Kanpur Revised UG Curriculum 2021-22 has been released as a part of the Undergraduate Academic Review Committee Report 2020-21. As per this improvisation, the institute has added new honors and interdepartmental degree programs in its academic curriculum. 

Under this curriculum, the IIT Kanpur has launched a new template for its undergraduate course education, which includes various features and initiatives. 

Talking about the transformation, IIT Kanpur officials said, “The transformative steps were part of the Undergraduate Academic Review Committee Report 2020-21 (UGARC 2020-21) that was approved by the IIT Senate in its meeting held during October 6-7, 2021".

In addition to the new programs, the IIT Kanpur is now preparing to extend its core curriculum by adding courses like Social-Sciences, Communication, Humanities, Economics, Management, and Environment (SCHEME).

IIT Kanpur Admission 2021

IIT Kanpur students will be offered with new student exchange opportunities. Students will have the option to apply for student exchange programs across institutions for the Masters part of the Bachelors-Masters dual degree program. 

Additionally, students who have globally acclaimed Olympiads will be offered direct admission seats as a part of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur's initiative. 

As a part of the National Education Policy 2020 initiative, the IIT Kanpur Courses 2021 will be implemented with NEP 2020. Through this, students will have exit options so that they can leave the program in the middle. Students will receive certifications as per their academic scores.

Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur said: “The revamping of the existing curriculum, introduction of courses relevant to today’s changing world and the revised grading system is in continuation of our steps in line with the recommendations of the NEP 2020 of the Government”. 

He further stated that with this step towards National Education Policy 2020, the education system at IIT Kanpur will have more flexibility, which will make the institute a preferred college for its program. 

"A key aspect of the revamp is much-needed flexibility to the system enabling it to adapt to the changing academic landscape across the world. We are hopeful that these features will enable IIT Kanpur to be the preferred institute for its programs both nationally and internationally," Karandikar said.
