IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is April 11

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kanpur has begun the application process for the M.Tech program for the July 2022 semester. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @https://www.iitk.ac.in/.

IIT Kanpur offers MTech program in various specialisations that include Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences & Bio engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Photonics Science and Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Space Science and Astronomy. 

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Tech programmes can submit their applications till April 11, 2022. 

IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2022: Highlights 

The institute has started the online application process from March 22. Therefore, the candidates interested in pursuing MTech course from IIT Kanpur can apply online till 12 noon on April 11, 2022. 

IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

In order to enroll for admissions to the M.Tech program, candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria which are as follows: 

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or science (4 year program) with marks/CPI not below the specified minimum (As specified in PG manual).
• Candidates must have a valid GATE score to get admission to the M. Tech program in the case of regular candidates (non-sponsored/non-project candidates). 
• The requirement of GATE score is waived for the B.Tech candidates, graduated from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B.Tech.

IIT Kanpur M.Tech Admission 2022: Selection Process

• All the GATE-qualified candidates should first register at COAP (Common Online Acceptance Portal; https://coap.iitd.ac.in/); The COAP Registration Number is mandatory to apply at the IIT Kanpur application portal. 
• All other categories of MTech applicants who have not qualified GATE can apply directly through the IIT Kanpur application portal. 
• All the candidates will be selected on the basis of marks/CPI (wherever applicable as per the eligibility criteria) and GATE Score, via the COAP portal. 
• Candidates applying for part-time, sponsored, or external registration will be selected based on interview instead of GATE score.

Candidates can go through the steps below to apply online for the M.Tech program. 

• Visit the official application portal of IIT Kanpur @iitk.ac.in. 
• Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.
• Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.
• Pay the application fee of INR 500 and submit the Application form. 
• Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
