IIT Delhi Collaborates with Binance to issue NFT Tickets and PoAP in its Cultural Fest ‘Rendezvous’


New Delhi: IIT Delhi has partnered with Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain platform, to offer non-fungible token (NFT) tickets and proof of attendance protocol (PoAP) in its three-day cultural event 'Rendezvous'. The cooperation would allow IIT Delhi students to learn about blockchain technology and experience some of its applications in action.

On the concert nights, the NFT tickets will be issued to the attendees. The event has begun today and will go on till April 26, 2022. 

Leon Foong, Head of APAC at Binance said, “We are excited to partner with IIT Delhi for Rendezvous, where the most talented tech students from all over the country are brought together. We are happy to leverage Binance’s infrastructure and platform to inspire and educate the attendees of Rendezvous in web3, blockchain and crypto."

As the title sponsor of the event, Binance also announced that it would hold contests in crypto trading and NFT arts, as well as a 'crypto for everyone' educational webinar on crypto and blockchain on May 1. Participants of the webinar will be awarded certificates. 

Khushpreet Singh, BRCA IIT Delhi overall coordinator, stated,” The digitisation of the event will definitely infuse a new level of excitement to the attendee experience, while also imparting knowledge about this most interesting technology that enables us to be future-ready".

Binance is also supporting a few crypto and blockchain-related competitions during the fest, including Cryptocon and an NFTart competition, to provide students exposure to advanced technologies.

Recently, IIT Delhi has inked a MoU (Posoco)-NRLDC to encourage research on issues relating to India's power sector and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. The goal of this partnership is to improve academia-industry interaction with the objective of knowledge sharing and capacity building through collaboration as well as to promote research on topics related to India's power sector.
