New Delhi: IIT Delhi and the University of Queensland (UQ) have joined hands to create a Joint-PhD program that will assist PhD scholars to deliver global impact.
The institute has invited exceptional candidates with backgrounds in Science, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, and Social Science for the projects scheduled to commence from July 2022.
Candidates interested in the Joint Ph.D Program of IIT Delhi and UQ are required to submit their expression of interest (EQI) till March 27, 2022 for admission.
All the candidates opting for the UQIDAR joint PhD program are eligible to receive a scholarship to study at two world-leading, research-intensive institutions, IIT Delhi and University of Queensland.

IIT Delhi-UQ Joint PhD Program: Course Details
The primary aim of the UQIDAR joint PhD program is to foster the development of independent research skills in addressing grand challenges of global significance.
Participants will be required to complete a thesis of no more than 80,000 words, with their research representing a significant new contribution to their specialisation.
They will also be required to investigate a significant research problem, master conceptual and methodological skills, and relate your research to a broader framework of knowledge.
Candidates opting for the joint-PhD program will get access to world-class facilities, resources, and exposure to a new research ecosystem and environment.
Joint PhD Program: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested to apply for the PhD program are required to meet the eligibility criteria which are as follows,
- The eligibility requirement is different depending on whether you are an Indian or international student (i-student) or an Australian domestic student (q-student).
- Candidate's completed degree must be in an area relevant to their intended PhD, including sufficient specialisation such that they will have already developed an understanding and appreciation of a body of knowledge relevant to the intended PhD.
- Candidate's degree and/or professional experience must demonstrate that their knowledge of the discipline in which their plan to undertake their PhD is current.
It is therefore expected that candidates will have to complete their tertiary studies and/or any relevant professional experience in the ten years immediately prior to their intended entry to the PhD.
