IIT-Delhi, Log9 Materials Collaborates for Research on Battery, Energy Storage Solutions; Check Details


New Delhi: IIT Delhi has joined hands with leading battery-tech start-up Log9 materials to work on research and development projects in the field of battery and energy storage.

Under this collaboration, IIT Delhi and Log9 Materials Scientific Private Limited will jointly work on promoting superlative research in advanced battery and energy storage solutions domains.

As per the statement released on Thursday, March 03, 2022, the three-year-long collaboration with the Center for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) at IIT Delhi is done under the MoU signed with Log9.

The umbrella MoU (memorandum of understanding) was signed between the Log9 Materials Scientific Private Limited and the Delhi Science and Technology (S&T) Cluster managed by the Delhi Research Implementation and Innovation (DRIIV) Foundation. 

As a part of the collaboration, the CART and Log9 will aim to work on various research, industry-based projects as well as on various multiple academic initiatives in the upcoming months. 

While talking about the initiative, Akshay Singhal, founder and CEO of Log9 Materials said, "We are proud to announce the strategic collaboration with a prestigious player like IIT-Delhi's CART, which is facilitated and enabled with the active support of DRIIV".

"With the electric mobility and energy sectors in India growing rapidly over the last few years, a dire need has been felt for industry-academia partnerships to promote innovation, research, and talent in these sectors" he added. 

Mr. Singhal stated that the partnership will not only deal with issues related to battery and energy but will also work on improving and boosting the EV and energy storage ecosystems in the country.

Adding to his statement, B K Panigrahi, professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering IIT-Delhi and Head of CART said: "It is a great opportunity for us to collaborate in various research fronts along with Log9 Materials”.

With this, students of IIT Delhi UG, PG Courses 2022 will have the opportunity to work on various research projects and receive training and internship opportunities in one of the leading battery technology startups of India, he added.
