IIT Bombay Signs MoU for New Design Lab; Check Details


New Delhi: IIT Bombay has signed an MoU with its distinguished alumnus, Mr Deepak M. Satwalekar, to set up a new state-of-the-art design & making lab in the Institute on March 10, 2022.


Mr Satwalekar, who is a B.Tech- Hons (Mechanical Engineering) alumnus from the batch of 1971 has committed to donate a generous amount for the establishment of this new design lab project at IIT Bombay

The establishment of this Design lab at IIT-B will provide students from the first year of engineering courses with hands-on training. Students will get the opportunity to learn through the best-in-class machinery, which will thereby unlock new & immersive methods of learning for them.

The lab will allow students to obtain access to the top class equipment for Mechanical and Electronic work which will include laser cutters, 3D printers, the latest workstations with Computer-aided Design software (CAD) and a complete electronics setup.

IIT, Bombay will name this State-of-the-art design & making lab after the name of Mr Satwalekar and his wife, Mrs Maya Satwalekar, to acknowledge their humanitarian donation. The design lab will be located on the first floor of the Pre-Engineered Transit Building on the campus.

IIT Bombay Courses and Fees

Recently, IIT Kanpur has joined hands with SAS India to Offer a Joint Certificate program Applied AI and ML for Business & Decision analysis. Aspiring candidates must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field to become eligible for this certificate course.

This course will have a time duration of 1-year and it is aimed to provide technical & application-oriented training to students. The program will be implementing blended methods of learning which will include things such as case studies, practical projects and mock examinations.
