Among the total of 526 IIT Bhubaneswar students from UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs who had registered for the final semester examination, there was 100% participation.

The director of the Institute Raja Kumar stated that although the institute had previously scheduled two examinations to facilitate the students to acquire facilities in case they do not have, all the students were able to take the exams successfully with full participation.

The institute has designed a new system in which the conventional offline exams will be conducted online along with external invigilation. The institute adopted the same technique to conduct the online examination for its final semester students. The system was introduced by R V Raja Kumar and developed by Barathram, who is the chairman of Computer and IT Services Cell. The programming was done by Chandra Vadde.

The only change difference that was implemented in these examinations is that instead of the usual three hours duration, the exam lasted for two hours. Similarly, the weightage was reduced from 50% to 40%.
