IGNOU to Offer Courses for Educational Institutions in Singapore, Bahrain, UAE

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is all set to offer various courses to educational institutes from foreign countries such as Singapore, Bahrain, and UAE. The course will be offered by the institute's International Division.

As per IGNOU, the institute has collaborated with foreign education institutes to offer courses to students outside India. The agreement between the institutes was signed in the presence of Nageshwar Rao, vice-chancellor of IGNOU, and officials of foreign institutes.

With this, IGNOU courses will be offered in Clascma International Education and Research Centre, PMC Academy Private Limited located in Singapore, Unigrad Education Center WLL, Suqayyah-Manama in Bahrain, and Wisdom Educational Consultant in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

IGNOU Vice-Chancellor stated that this initiative is a step towards the internationalization of higher education in line with the National Education Policy released in 2020. This will further result in an increase in seat intake of overseas students in university programs.

In addition to this, IGNOU and UGC have joined hands to offer a 3 years long skilled BA program. The program will be offered to enhance the future of the recruits or “Aginveers” under the “Agnipath” scheme.

Informing about the program, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, UGC, says, “UGC and IGNOU are working collectively to offer recognition for the talents acquired by ‘Agniveers’”. As well as, as soon as the Digital College is established, ‘Agniveers’ may have the chance to do programs in rising areas. It will make them future-ready.”

As of now, IGNOU has 21 Schools of Studies, 67 Regional Centers, almost 2667 Learner Support Centers, 810 faculty members, and 29 foreign institutes around the world. The university offers various UG, PG Diploma, and certificate level programs to its students.
