New Delhi: IGNOU has announced to give free UPSC coaching to applicants from the SC category in order to help underprivileged students in clearing the civil services examination. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the official portal, ignou.ac.in. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2022.
According to an IGNOU statement, free coaching would be provided under the aegis of the newly-established Dr Ambedkar Centre for Excellence (DACE). A total of 100 candidates will be chosen from the SC community to get the coaching on the basis of an All India Entrance Examination. IGNOU aims that through this deprived students would be able to pass the UPSC civil service exam in 2023.
According to official information, the free UPSC coaching provided by IGNOU and DACE will cover both the preliminary and main examinations for the UPSC CSE and 33% of seats are reserved for women candidates.
On the official website, you can find the application form as well as additional information. Accountability of candidate leaving the said course in between will be properly fixed and entire fees will be recovered from the candidate.

IGNOU Free UPSC Coaching for SC Candidates: Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed graduation in any subject. Those who are appearing in the graduation final year exams are expected to submit a pass certificate.
- Only SC category candidates can apply.
- All candidates must provide their duly attested caste certificates.
- The selected candidates can avail the coaching facility only once, irrespective of the chances available to them.
- The candidates should not have received a similar benefit from the government under any other scheme. An affidavit to this effect should be furnished.

- Step 2: On the homepage, click on the relevant link.
- Step 3: Register yourself after filling in the required details such as Name, Email Id, Contact Number etc.
- Step 4: Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all details in the Application form and submit it.
- Step 5: Applicants must also take a printout of the form for all future needs.
