New Delhi: IDRP IIT Madras Admission 2022 has begun for its July session. Candidates seeking admission to interdisciplinary PhD and M.S. programmes, can apply latest by April 30, 2022.
As per the official statement of IIT Madras, external candidates have to contact at least two interested faculties from the institute and discuss their scope of research work before applying to this programme. The faculty have to apply internally on the external candidate’s behalf.

IDRP IIT Madras Admission 2022: Steps to Apply
Interested candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to apply to this programme:
Step 1- Visit the official website and apply through this form
Step 2- Candidates need to select their department as interdisciplinary to apply to this programme
Step 3- Indicate the chosen project
Step 4- Submit the application
The shortlisted candidates will have to prepare for the screening test followed by an interview.
IDRP IIT Madras Admission 2022: Screening Test
Except the external and part-time candidates, short-listed candidates need to appear for a screening test which will be conducted in two rounds- written test and interview.
Written Test (Online)
The written test consists of 2 parts. Here are the details of the test:
-Part A (subjective) and Part B (general aptitude)
-Duration will be 3 horus
-Part A consists of 100 questions (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Basic Engineering) of which only 50 needs to be answered
-Each question carries 1 mark
-Part B consists of 25 questions (Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation)
-All questions are need to be answered
-Each question carries 1 mark
Interview
-Interviews will be conducted by the Selection Committees of respective departments from time to time.
Both tests will be conducted at the IIT Madras campus only.
