HSBTE and Jindal Stainless Steel Ink MoU to Introduce Stainless Steel Courses in All Polytechnic Colleges; Check Details Here


New Delhi: Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE), Panchkula, has signed an MoU with Jindal Stainless to upskill and train students in the field of stainless steel and its application, technology.

The collaboration will result in the introduction of courses on stainless steel in all the polytechnic colleges in Haryana.

The MoU was signed on February 21, 2022, between Rajesh Goel, HSBTE Secretary and Vijay Bindlish, the Senior Vice President, Manufacturing of Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Limited. Anand Mohan Sharan, Haryana’s Additional Chief Secretary and Vijay Sharma, Jindal Steel Director, were also present during the event. 

With the vision to empower India’s youth by upskilling them, the Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE), Panchkula, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jindal Stainless with the joint objective to promote technical education in the field of stainless steel technology and applications,” the company added to its statement. 

2 Modules on Stainless Steel to be Launched:

As per the MoU, two modules will be launched on stainless steel. One compulsory module will be introduced to the fourth-semester mechanical engineering students. This course will be taught over 10 lectures as part of the Materials and Metallurgy subject. 

These courses will be taught across 25 Polytechnic colleges in Haryana, helping more than 3000 students per year. The courses are to be introduced from March 2022.

At the Government Polytechnic (GP), Hisar, a 3-credit elective course, comprising 42 lectures, will be launched for the mechanical engineering students during their 5th semester. 

As per the MoU, Jindal Stainless Steel will provide GP with the required equipment related to stainless steel fabrication. This way, the students will be able to have hands-on experience and training, leading them to be more employment ready. 

Lauding the initiative, Jindal Stainless Director Sharma commented, “As leaders in the Indian stainless steel industry, we consider it our responsibility to foster an ecosystem for growth and adoption of stainless steel. This MoU will pave the way for a series of professional courses for students and equip them with technical exposure to stainless steel applications in the industry.
