Goa CM Announces Online Courses To Expand Academic Opportunities And Generate Skilled Labour

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, has announced the start of online courses. The minister stated at the launch of MANDAVI (Mentoring and Nurturing Digital and Virtual Initiatives) that his government's goal is to make Goa self-sufficient in all sectors, including education.

"MANDAVI" is the Directorate of Higher Education's major initiative (DHE). Sawant stated that on the 'Mandavi' Channel, students in rural areas who cannot complete direct courses could pursue education and complete their coursework online.

"This project, which will assist kids in completing their education, makes me extremely happy. I congratulate all who contributed to its creation, "he said.

Sawant stated that MANDAVI is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education (DHE) to develop Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to give high-quality courses to millions and billions of students worldwide.

"MOOCA is a form of education in which students can attend digital higher education courses online," he explained.

"Everyone who has the desire to learn will have access to a high-quality education. I have set a goal to make Goa an independent state in every sector, including agriculture, industry, and education "he stated.

He added, "I am convinced our state will attain excellence and serve as a model for other states. Those currently employed or seeking employment can obtain extra qualifications through this. This is an opportunity for national and worldwide competition. "

He urged young people to make the most of this opportunity to increase their knowledge and education. Sawant stated that the MOOC courses currently being developed at the Department of Higher Education (DHE) are based on the University Grants Commission (UGC) curriculum.

The choice-based Credit System, which is suggested to be provided in the credit transfer method on the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) platform, is a programme started by the Central government to provide several online courses to students.

These online courses, according to him, will provide the state with trained labour.
