Four Karnataka Public Universities Collaborates with US Universities for Higher Education; Read Details Here

New Delhi: Four state-run institutions from Karnataka and universities from Pennsylvania, United States, has joined hands for higher education. The agreement was signed between the universities in the presence of C N Ashwath Narayan, the Chief Minister for Higher Education in Bangalore on January 10, 2023.

According to the official statement, the agreements that apply to undergraduate programs were signed at the State Higher Education Council (SHEC) in the presence of C N Ashwath Narayan and representatives from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and Vice Chancellors from each university.

During the event, the agreements were signed between Bangalore City University, Bangalore University, Mangalore University and Commonwealth, Kutzdown Universities of Pennsylvania. Additionally, a contract was signed between Millersville University and Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

The agreement stipulates that Bangalore University would exchange expertise in the fields of English, computer science, business administration, sports management, and sports psychology.

While the Geographical and geo-informational benefits would accrue to Bangalore University. According to the statement, this would also allow it to start twinning programmes that would make it easier to send students to US universities.

Business administration and strategic communications are two areas where Mangalore University will work. The VTU will be benefitted from geo-information science degree courses. The partnerships, according to Narayan, would also be for the joint development of research ideas and new programmes.
