Education Minister to Announce NIRF Ranking 2022 Virtually on July 15


New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will release the annual NIRF Ranking 2022 for the session 2021-22 on July 15, 2022, at 11 am. The rankings will be released for top institutes, colleges, and other educational institutes across the country. 

In NIRF Ranking 2022, Indian institutes, universities, and colleges will be ranked on the basis of several parameters including- teaching-learning and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcome, outreach and inclusivity, and perception. 

Informing about NIRF Ranking 2022, the Ministry of Education officially tweeted, “On 15th July 2022, Hon’ble Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan will release the India rankings 2022 under National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), virtually".

"The annual exercise outlines a methodology to rank Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) across India in various categories & subject domains. Stay tuned!” the tweet further added. 

As per the data, this year the number of colleges that have applied for NIRF ranking 2022 has decreased from last year. For the 2022 session, 724 Indian educational institutes have participated in the rankings, higher than last year's 6272 participation. 

The rankings have also been increased across 11 categories, such as overall, college, university, engineering, medicine, dental, pharmacy, law, etc. Despite the rise in participation, the top rankings for this are expected to be booked by the leading colleges of India

For the past year, the top IITs in India, such as IIT Madras and IISc have secured their top ranks in NIRF Rankings. At the same time, the National Law School of India University has ranked in the top position with a record of securing the top place in four consecutive years.
