New Delhi: Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister, Phuskar Singh Dhami has launched the National Education Policy 2020 in Uttarakhand on October 16, 2022. The NEP 2020 will be implemented for higher education for the academic session 2022-23.

As per the reports, Uttrakhand is the first state in India to launch the new education policy of NEP 2022 for primary education with Bal Vikas. With this step, the state government aims to focus on the skill development and personality development of students of Uttarakhand.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister of Education said, "Uttarakhand is the land of scholars. Many new ideas will come from the state for the better implementation of the new education policy". The government will ensure that every student joins the Bal Vikas.
The new education policy 2020 is prepared by keeping in mind all aspects of human life. It focuses not only on education but also gives equal importance to the overall development of students, which includes skill development, personality development and moral values.
The policy will be implemented for the children of Bal Vikas. "We need to start with a target of giving quality education to 40 lakh children in Uttarakhand from infancy to the age of 21-22 years under the new policy," the Union Minister said.
Adding to the statement, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, the New Education Policy 2020 will be executed in the education system in a phase-wise manner. The authority will take "effective steps" to implement education policy in higher education.
"The new national education policy prepared under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of a new, strong and self-reliant India," the Chief Minister further added.
