New Delhi: Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan has launched the 'Awakening' Programme in the presence of Swami Shantatmanada, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission for the students of classes I to V.

In his remarks, the Minister stated that the NEP 2020 is profoundly influenced by the idea of Swami Vivekananda. Several of our greats, like Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobindo, and Mahatma Gandhi, envisioned an innovative education system founded on our Indian ideals in order to advance the country.
He claimed that social revolution is one of education's primary objectives. Values and knowledge are more essential than material possessions. He stated that value-based education is essential for creating a future-ready and socially conscious generation.
He also said that the Ramakrishna Mission has a long history of teaching practical skills. At a time that NEP 2020 is being implemented, it must also be emphasised that we make value-based educational programmes for classes 9th to 12th as well, same as creating programmes for classes 1st to 8th.
In the press release, he said that this unique initiative is a step toward making sure that a child's whole personality develops in line with the NEP 2020 philosophy. Pradhan stressed that the education system needs to be tied to national interests.
"We must nurture citizens who can take on global challenges. NEP 2020's emphasis on a holistic, teacher-led education system for students is a step in this direction "he added.
The Minister urged the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to implement a framework for promoting value-based education from Balvatika to Class 12 in order to create a talent pool that is prepared for challenges and dedicated to national progress and global welfare.
