DU UG Admission 2022: Over 21,000 Applicants Choose to Upgrade Seats for Higher Colleges & Courses

New Delhi: As per reports, 21,312 candidates who were allotted seats in DU UG Admissions 2022 choose to upgrade their courses and colleges. The applications were received through the DU seat acceptance window opened against CSAS round 1 allocation.

As per Delhi University (DU), registered candidates who are allotted seats in CSAS round 1 allocation may rearrange their higher preferences and select their preferred colleges and subjects until today, October 27, 2022 for DU UG admission 2022.

The university has released the list of vacant seats after the first round of the DU CSAS 2022. According to the list, only one or two seats would be available for applicants in several of the courses during the second round of seat distribution.

There are no more seats available in several DU programs, such as BA Economics at Hindu College and BA History + Political Science at Aryabhatta College. The majority of seats in the most prestigious colleges in DU's North Campus are already taken.

Similarly in St Stephen's College, several courses have only a few PwD seats left. The unreserved seats are vacant only in B.Sc (Hons.) Physics (five) and B.Sc (Hons.) Chemistry (two) in the prestigious college. In Miranda House College, all seats in over 20 courses are filled up.

However, the university said the number of vacant seats might change due to reconciliations, withdrawals and cancellations. Based on the availability of seats, the university will declare the second round of the Central Seat Allocation System (CSAS Round-II) on October 30.

According to DU, only applicants who were admitted during round one of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) will be permitted to upgrade their options. The varsity had warned that the present seat would be terminated if a new preference was given.

Candidates who are promoted will have to accept the upgraded seat and complete the DU UG Admission 2022-23 procedures on the upgraded allocated seat. Those who received their first choice of course and college during the first round will not be eligible for the upgrading.

Further, the candidates should use their dashboard to submit a "freeze" request if they want to keep their assigned seats. The applicant will not be able to choose "upgrade" after choosing "freeze.

Candidate's admittance will be kept and they will not be given consideration for an upgrade if they choose neither to upgrade nor "freeze." Additionally, they will be removed from CSAS-2022 if they do not take any action on the upgraded seat, which will automatically be deemed cancelled.
