New Delhi: Delhi University is all set to conduct its 98th convocation on February 26, 2022, where the university has planned to facilitate digital degrees to nearly 1.73 lakh students.
According to the DU reports, the varsity will issue the printed degrees to the graduates within a month of the convocation.
DS Rawat, DU’s dean of examinations, said that the university will release the digital degrees to the students on the day of Convocation. Students who completed their respective courses in the year 2021, will be receiving emails for the same.
Further, the varsity must receive the mails by the second week of March, after which the varsity will conduct individual verification of the degrees. Post this process, the degrees will be sent to the respective colleges and the students can acquire it later on, Rawat said.
The university has taken the decision of providing the degrees within a month's duration to reduce the woes faced by the students who earlier used to wait for their degrees for years after graduation.
According to the DU reports, over 77,500 undergraduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students will be receiving their degrees this year on the convocation day.
A total of 91,800 undergraduate and 1126 post-graduate students from the Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL) will also receive their degrees in the next two months. Moreover, the varsity will facilitate 650 PhD degrees to the scholars this year.
Earlier, the data to provide the degrees was collected through colleges, which was a time-consuming process. But this year, the university is nearly ready with the degrees as the data was collected directly through the new examination form.
The dean of examinations concluded by saying that the mark sheet and admit card data might have been ready and could be sent for printing.
Delhi University will carry out its 98th convocation ceremony at the Multipurpose Hall of the university’s Sports Stadium Complex on February 26, 2022.
