DU Extends Registration Deadline For Centenary Chance Examination; Apply Till June 24

New Delhi: Delhi University has extended the registration deadline for the centenary chance exam. The final-year dropouts will now be able to finish the registration procedure untill June 24. Previously, the last date to apply was June 15, 2022.

In May, as part of the centenary celebrations, DU announced that people who dropped out of college in the final year might enrol for a one-time opportunity to retake exams and finish their degree.

The university in a statement stated, "eligible candidates can appear for a maximum of four papers in the annual mode and up to eight papers for semester-wise tests. This one-time chance has been given to drop-out students in view of Delhi University's year-long centenary celebrations starting May 1".

Delhi University has also directed its faculties, departments, colleges, and centres to complete the confirmation and verification of such students' registration forms by June 27, 2022. The proposal to offer dropout students one more opportunity was approved by the special Executive Council on January 28. The council had gathered to discuss the university's centennial festivities.

The guidelines issued by Registrar Vikas Gupta stated, “The undergraduate and postgraduate students who have completed their course work and statutory requirement prescribed for completion of the course and have Essential Repeat (ER)/failed as per the final year mark sheet (ER can be in any semester/year), shall be considered for this centenary chance, subject to the permissibility of their regulatory body governing the respective professional courses."
