New Delhi: Delhi University, Department of Education (CIE) has inaugerated the First National Seminar on National Curriculum Framework Foundational Stage 2022. The event is being held in cooperation with the Institute for Educational and Developmental Studies.

Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State for Education in the Indian Government, attended the ceremony organised by DU. Representatives from organisations such as NCERT, SCERT, JNU, EFLY, VBSS, etc. were also present.
About the national seminar, the university created a forum where academics, students, teachers, and the general public could gather to discuss, think through, and understand the National Education Policy's core principles.
NCF for Children 3 to 8 Years of Age
Four National Curriculum Frameworks for Foundational, Middle, Secondary, and Higher Education Stages are being introduced with the NEP 2020. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 are taken into account by the policy under the "Curricular and Pedagogical structure" for school instruction. Due to studies on early childhood care and education, which shows that the pace of brain development in these years is faster than that of the latter stage of human life, children of this age have been included in the framework.
Highlights of the Event
Dr. Sarkar emphasised the necessity for a curriculum that fosters each child's uniqueness while also preparing them to be accepting, compassionate citizens who uphold the values of diversity, spirituality, and Indian culture.
Professor Anurag Behar, a member of the NCF Steering Committee, gave the event's keynote address. The occasion was also presided over by Professor Prakash Singh, Director of the South Campus, who underlined the need of becoming self-sufficient in line with the goal of "Atmanirbhar Bharat."
