New Delhi: Delhi University will commence admissions assessments for the extracurricular activities quota (ECA) on Tuesday, according to university authorities.

As per Delhi University, this year, admission under the ECA supernumerary quota for the academic year 2022-23 is being offered in 14 categories, with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) category receiving the most applications (1,748).

The trials for ECA admissions for 2022-23 will begin on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, and continue through Thursday, October 27, 2022, according to the official. The aggregate scores of the Common University Entrance Test (UG) - 2022, performance tests, trials, and certificates will be evaluated for ECA seat allotment.

For an ECA score of 75 points in 12 categories, excluding the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), 60 points will be awarded for physical testing and 15 points for presented certificates.

The tryouts for creative writing, yoga, and digital media will be held on October 19 and 20, for fine arts on October 19 and 21, for music (instrument) on October 19, for music on October 18, and for divinity on October 19.

Trials are set for dance on October 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26 and 27; for debate on October 19 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26; for music (voice) on October 19, 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26; and for theatre on October 21, 22, 26.

Officials from Delhi University stated that there would be no physical tests for admission into the NCC and NSS categories. The ECA score for the NSS and NCC will be determined using certificates.

The official stated that if there is a conflict between dates for candidates competing in multiple ECA categories, no request for a date adjustment will be accepted for those categories with a single trial date listed. Candidates may submit applications for up to three categories.

However, just one admission route will be available. "For other categories, the candidate may request a date adjustment by suggesting alternative dates from among the dates available for the trials of the relevant ECA category or subcategory," the university explained.

The official stated that applicants must arrive half an hour before the trial time slot for attendance and countersigning marks provided based on certificate evaluation. "Owing to the fact that these are in-person trials, the allotted time periods may fluctuate due to unforeseen situations.

Therefore, candidates are recommended to make sufficient provisions for food, water, and any medications for a longer duration than specified "said the official.
