Delhi University to Bring Sardar Patel's Unity Campaign Work in Research; Dharmendra Pradhan


New Delhi: Dharmendra Pradhan, India's Minister of Education attended the University of Delhi's "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" event today, October 31, 2022 at 7:30 am. In his speech, he requested that the university to bring the work done in the unity campaign of Sardar Patel into research.

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Dharmendra Pradhan asserted that Sardar Patel is the best example of someone who has made decisions in the national interest in trying conditions. The event also included Unity Run in front of the Gandhi Statue next to Vice Regal Lodge hosted by Delhi University.

The Union Minister spoke to the audience during the event and stated, "A lot of work would have been done on Patel in the 100-year history of the University, but in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, it should be brought into the discussion by bringing it into research in a more relevant form."

In his remembrance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he further added that, "We are fortunate that Patel's contribution has resulted in our country's present-day existence as a unified India."

Education Minister talked about Patel's significant contributions to the nation's cooperative movement. When describing the current situation, Dharmendra Pradhan noted that "challenges like boosting employment, planning, and entrepreneurship are being faced in today's times as the country is entering the 21st century."

He explained to the nation's educated people and those involved in administration work that it is their duty to provide opportunities for society to live in dignity. The minister urged the younger generation to follow in Patel's footsteps.

Pradhan reported that "When there was a chance of achieving independence after 100 years of the freedom movement, there were individuals representing various views in the national leadership. Sardar Patel played the part of a balancing force throughout that time."

He asserted that "Patel took it upon himself to weave a thread of togetherness throughout the nation in addition to securing the country's political independence. Patel made a significant contribution to the formation of the nation's political and cultural identity."

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was welcomed on this occasion by Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi. In his speech, he stated that "the Government of India had decided in 2014 that the birthday of former Deputy Prime Minister Sardar Patel would be marked as National Unity Day.

As a result, he continued, "we got the opportunity of celebrating National Unity Day". Although Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel made numerous contributions to India, according to the VC, his greatest achievement was creating united India of today.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor referred to two novels published by V.P. Menon on Sardar Patel and urged everyone to study them in order to understand the circumstances surrounding the nation's unification at the time.

In addition to this, everyone who joined the event swore an oath promising to dedicate themselves to preserving the country's security, integrity, and unity. Following the presentation, a Unity Run was planned in front of the Gandhi Statue. It began and ended there, going through the university stadium.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Prof. Yogesh Singh, vice chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, Prof. Prakash Singh, Director of South Campus, Prof. Payal Mago, Director of SOL, proctor Prof. Rajni Abbi, and Dr Vikas Gupta, registrar were presented at unity run.
