New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has begun its "centenary opportunity test" for college dropouts to finish their courses.

D S Rawat, the dean of examinations at DU, said the exams are being held in two shifts and that the attendance has been "excellent" till date. Due to the year-long centennial celebrations of DU, which began on May 1, the dropouts have been given this one shot.
According to Rawal, the analysis for the centenary chance examination has been started and the preparations were meticulous, and the exams were successfully held.
More than 1,850 students are expected to show up on the exam day as more than 8,560 candidates have submitted their applications.
The exams would be conducted in two shifts on Sunday at two exam centres—the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Sciences.
Rawat said that a total of 18 papers will be conducted in each shift. All the eligible candidates can appear for a maximum of four papers in the annual mode and up to eight papers for papers for semester-wise tests. It won't be conducted for internal evaluation; instead, it will be used for a theory and practical examination.
He said that the exams will be conducted between October 16 and November 9. Earlier, the university had announced in May that the students who left college in their final year could sign up for this one-time opportunity to take the exam and complete their course. The university will conduct another round of exams in March next year.
