New Delhi: Delhi University (DU) has recorded over 2.17 registrations for the undergraduate program admission process for the academic session 2022-23. This year, the university's registration has dipped by nearly 70,000 as compared to last year.

For the 2022-23 academic sessions, Delhi University started the admission process for its various UG courses through Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. The admission seats are offered based on their CUET UG 2022 scores instead of class 12th marks.
The registration window for DU UG Admissions 2022 was open from September 12, 2022, to October 13, 2022, for all interested and eligible candidates. The admissions began for over 70,000 seats for UG courses, for which as many as 2.17 lakh candidates have applied this year.
As per the data shared by the university, a total of 2,17,653 aspirants have applied for admissions this year. While last year, the number of registrations for undergraduate courses was 2.87 lakh. The university saw a dip in the numbers by 70,000 in this year’s admission.
Referring to the data, Dean of Admissions Professor Haneet Gandhi said, "Out of this, more than 1.5 lakh have marked their college and course preferences. The registrations this year are not low. It is a good number. Last year as well we witnessed a similar number of registration".
Rajesh Jha, who teaches at Rajdhani College informed that the decline in registration numbers is due to the delay in CUET UG 2022. He added, "The CUET was conducted so late that the students already got admission into private universities and that is why the number is quite low”.
The admissions process began for 79 undergraduate programs offered in 67 DU-affiliated colleges, departments, and centers. Some of the in-demand Delhi University courses are BA, BCom, MBA, MCom, BSc, BEd, MEd, M.Phil and PhD courses offered in various disciplines.
Delhi University is now preparing to re-open the portal for mid-entry admissions to DU UG Courses from November 2022. Candidates who were unable to apply for admission in the first round will be able to submit their applications through the admission portal; du.ac.in.
