CUET 2022 Exam for UG Admission in July Declares NTA; Check Details

New Delhi: CUET 2022 for undergraduate programs will be held in the first week of July, the NTA will release the test pattern on April 22, 2022. 

The students who want to register for the CUET 2022 exam may apply from the first week of April 2022.

Admission to undergraduate courses in Central institutions would be completely dependent on CUET scores, with no weightage given to Class 12 Board results, according to UGC chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar. He added that institutions can only utilise the Board exam results as qualifying criteria for the examination.

Students applying for CUET 2022 could fill out the CUET online application form available.

• Visit the official website of NTA. 
• Click on the registration link and fill in the required details. 
• After the registration link is generated, fill out the application form.
• Mention the details and proceed.
• Attach all the documents asked with passport size photograph and signature.
• Select the university and course you want to apply for.
• Candidates could choose 3 universities and 3 programs for which they have to submit extra fees.
• Go through the form again and click on submit.
• Pay the application fee at the time of submitting through debit/credit/net banking. 
• Get a printout of a form for future reference.

CUET 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Following are some of the eligibility criteria for the CUET 2022 exam:

• Students applying for CUET 2022 for undergraduate courses must have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board.
• Students applying for CUET 2022 for Postgraduate courses must have done bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.
• Students applying must be a citizen of India.

CUET 2022: Exam Pattern 

Students appearing for CUET 2022 exam could go through the below-written points for better understanding:

• The CUET 2022 entrance exam is a computerized exam. 
• It will have multiple choice questions from the NCERT books. 
• The exam will be for 3 hours and will be conducted in two shifts. 
• The question paper of CUET 2022 will consist of a compulsory language test, two domain-specific tests, and the general test. 
• There would be negative marking in the CUET 2022 exam for every wrong answer. 
• The exam will be conducted in 13 languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia and English.

The Government was never in favour of using Board marks for admission in undergraduate programmes because of the “diversity” in evaluation methods. “Some Boards are more generous than others in marking and this gives their students an unfair advantage over others,” said an official on the condition of anonymity.

Following CUET, each university would admit students based on a merit list issued by NTA, with no common counselling.

CUET will now cover DU, JNU, JMI, and IGNOU in the national capital, as well as AMI and BHU in Uttar Pradesh. 

Further, the UGC chairperson explained,” The only difference is that these students will also have to come through CUET, like students to be admitted on general seats. The reservation policies and ordinances of the universities will remain unchanged”.
