Earlier, last month, the University Grants Commission (UGC) issued a letter, stating that the higher education institutions are authorized to take decisions on conducting offline/online classes and holding exams in online/offline/blended mode according to COVID-19 situation in their areas.

The government official said that it takes almost 50 to 60 days to complete the process of conducting annual examinations of the Universities, which is a huge challenge for the examination center, who also has the responsibility of ensuring arrangements according to the Covid-19 preventive protocols for a long period.

Taking this into consideration, the state government directed the university/ college to conduct the remaining exams online or in a blended mode.

Further, the government official said that the universities will have to make sure that further action in this regard along with the approval of respective executive councils is taken appropriately.
